Flight from Nepalgunj to Jumla overnight at Hotel Prepare and get ready all the stuff for trekking.
Follows a comfortable descent in the “Nepali Flat” (as the guides call the ups and downs) from Jumla. Start downhill through forests and pastures up to 3600 m. we can see with some luck how a Nepali from rice burns a raki ‘schnapps’
Jaljala Chaur, 3400 m, located on a high plateau. Once at the bottom, it goes through a jungle-like valley along the river, which we cross countless times. Sometimes over bridges, sometimes over stones or directly through the water. A steep climb, mostly over steps, leads up to Uphill to Sinja Khola we take narrow shepherd paths.
Sinja was the headquarters of the Malla Dynasty from the 12th to the 14th century. The ruins of the palace can be visited, above the village at 2650 meters. Sinja to Sinja Khola continue on a narrow path above the sinja khola. A wonderfully wide valley, crossed by the Sinja Khola River, The path continues up the Ghatta valley. At Army Camp we touch to the Rara N.P and reached gorosingh.
Gorosingha to Continue on a high plateau until it finally goes downhill. The path is partly steep and dotted with scree. The tree line is reached, the vegetation changes. Rhododendron bushes and meadows dominate the scenery. the pass at Chuchamare Danda at 3810 m. From here you have a wonderful view back to the Rara lake and the surrounding snowy mountain giants. it goes slightly uphill, then constantly downhill the river Khatyar Khola along murma and continues to rara lake.
The Rara Lake is the largest lake in Nepal with 9.8 sq km, 5 km long, 2 km wide, circumference 14.3 km, depth max. 167 m. The area was designated a National Park in 1975. Remoteness and silence like here can be found in a few places in Nepal. Here live the Himalayan bear, musk deer, goat-like Goral and Serow, red panda, Resus and long-toed monkeys, jackals, foxes, and various species of birds. Optional activities on site: – Hike with guide – Hike on your own – Rafting on the lake (currently prohibited for foreign tourists, due to a death in 2017), – ride on small horses
